Vegetarian Resource Group

The Vegetarian Resource Group (VRG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public on vegetarianism and the interrelated issues of health, nutrition, ecology, ethics, and world hunger. In addition to publishing the Vegetarian Journal, VRG produces and sells cookbooks, other books, pamphlets, and article reprints.


Hosted by Mercy for Animals, ChooseVeg.com serves as a guide to vegetarian and vegan living.  It offers information on how vegism can help animals, the earth, and your health, provides suggestions for making the switch, and has a database of hundreds of veg recipes.

GoVeg.com: Vegetarian and Vegan Information

GoVeg.com provides plenty of information on why you should consider going veg (health, environment, workers' rights, world hunger, etc) and resources to help your transition (recipes, books, websites, testimonials, news articles.)


VegSource.com hosts a plethora of discussion boards on topics from veg science to veg beauty advice to veg raw diets.  There are also helpful sections on parenting, weight loss, and frequently asked questions.

VegForLife - A Farm Sanctuary Campaign

The VegForLife website is a comprehensive information and networking site, filled with hundreds of resources, recipes, and tips to help you on your veg journey.  It provides tips for making veg food and clothing choices, information on veg resources and veg activism, and even has sections devoted to veg kids and veg companion animals.


TryVeg.com, hosted by Compassion over Killing, offers information on the whys and hows of veg eating and living, including veg food and recipes, suggestions on transitioning to vegism, and how vegism is a way to live sustainably.


VegWeb offers a multitude of veg-friendly recipes as well as articles on veg food/cooking and advice on finding coupons.  VegWeb also acts as a sort of social network with profiles, forums, a chat room, and blogs to link you to other VegFriends.


North American Vegetarian Society

Founded in 1974, the North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) is a non-profit tax-exempt educational organization. Its focus is two-pronged. The first is to provide a support network for members, affiliated groups, and vegetarians in general. The second is to inform the public about how vegetarianism benefits humans, other animals, and our shared earth.

Vegetarian Union of North America

The Vegetarian Union of North America works to promote a strong, effective, cooperative vegetarian movement throughout North America. VUNA's aim is to supply vegetarian organizations and individuals with information that will help them organize and maintain a strong vegetarian lifestyle.  Membership is open to groups and individuals.

American Vegan Society

The American Vegan Society is a nonprofit educational membership organization teaching a compassionate way of living that includes veganism.

Vegan Outreach (VO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. VO is dedicated to reducing animal suffering by promoting informed, ethical eating.

The Institute for Plant-Based Nutrition

Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group

The mission of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetics Practice Group (VN DPG) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) is to serve as the leading authority on evidence-based vegetarian nutrition for health professionals and the public.  As the leading authority on evidence-based vegetarian nutrition, the vision of VN DPG is to promote global health and well-being by developing influential policy and comprehensive education and by supporting cutting edge research.
